This is a line I offered to my wife to use in the future.
We are very close to escaping the insanity that is Southern California. We move in less than two months. My hope is that the level of stupidity we are seemingly surrounded by subsides with the move. I mean… is the whole country losing their marbles?
Just today my wife is in the Sam’s Club. She collected a very small order, and having worked at Costco in the past thought she would be more efficient and simply turn the items over in the cart exposing the UPC codes. This way the cashier could quickly scan, Heidi could pay, and off we’d be. It was a crowded Saturday with the normal amount of rudeness and self-entitlement – and then…
A woman behind my wife barked up in line “You know you have to unload your cart onto the belt, right?”. Here is where my wife made the error. These people aren’t looking for enlightenment. They aren’t open to logic. They are sick. Heidi actually attempted to engage the lady on common sense which drew attention and before you knew it… the cashier that my wife was making life easy for, was unloading the cart.
Remember. We live where shoplifting is unenforcible now. We live where homelessness is permitted in people’s front yards. We live where if your 10 year son says “I kind of feel like a girl today” you can lose custody of your son if you don’t affirm their curious thoughts. All this is going on around us and this lady is making a stink about whether the goods are scanned in a cart instead of on the belt?
As a society, we keep reinforcing this negative behavior. Truth is, a lot of folks need a proverbial boot up their arse. My wife was upset when she left the store. She felt as though she had allowed herself to be bullied. My wife is a fantastic soul and not mean by nature. She does not have the snarkiness that inhibits my own brain… so I gave her that line from the opening.
When a deranged social warrior acts out of turn in public how about calling them out on it? “You’ve got some balls for not knowing my level of crazy.”
I don’t know about you. I do know about my own thoughts. In my book “Action Leadership From the Edge” I specifically talk about a lack of natural leadership, that leads to unnatural leadership. Every time those that are naturally called to a designated position of leadership… no matter how big or small… failure to fill the role causes a gap in leadership. These gaps get filled unnaturally and cause chaos.
Stop the chaos! Fill your role.
As for me, without seeming too petty… I am done entertaining idiots and those that exhibit some form of mental breakdown. Societal norms exist for a reason. It may sound tin hat-like, but what is making people en masse so non-norm societally speaking? Is this a side effect of lockdowns, vaccines, the trans agenda, bidenomics?
Something is afoot. When the vice president mentions reducing population in a podium talk as a benefit – all bets are off. People celebrating this bizarre message are not in alignment with logic, societal norms, and decency.
We need to stop being polite and leave the crazies be. We need to call people out. Can I give you another story?
I messaged a young man with a nice, polite message asking for some feedback about who they were with and when they should be expected as people were expressing concern. This young man did not respond in hours, days, or even weeks. This is not how men were raised in the not-distant past. In recent times, a young man was expected to take the point, be responsible, and answer to an elder. I will remind him of that because after all, that is part of what leadership is… making corrections.
Society raising men to not be manly is a huge mistake. I drive you back to the idea of unnatural leadership. If the only strong-willed people with confidence are the “Wrong” people… how can society move forward with weakness? Well, it hasn’t and it isn’t. We need change.
When it’s the strong-willed idiots that make a stink about the cart vs the belt, and they get their way although there is no tangible benefit or reasoning… we’ve allowed stupid to lead. We need to embrace our natural calls to lead and embrace the God-given intelligence we have been given.
