While this page is about leadership and everyone’s natural call to lead, our society has been in a type of tailspin with all kinds of triggering topics. Gun Control, Abortion, Alphabet activity, Mass Shootings, Government Corruption, Big Pharma and more have been on all of our plates. Two and half years ago, I had no idea I would be studying virology and trying to perform forensic auditing of cash flow and government decisions regarding health.

We have now entered an age where “Sudden Adult Death Syndrome” and “Myocarditis” are being normalized and truthfully… when you find yourself trying to normalize something, it’s a given that whatever it does, does not equal normal. No matter what side of a discussion you find yourself in, you start to wonder “Why are there zero alignments here?”.

Let’s jump into Abortion. Why not? I’m a glutton for punishment. First off, they are referring to the issue on multiple fronts as “Women’s Rights” & “Reproductive Health”. Reproductive health regarding something that terminates reproduction is strange at the outset. Add to that the side effects both physical and mental of Abortion, and again… you need to struggle to identify where “health” steps in. Just because people call it something, doesn’t make it so. Further, the more you understand about the history and founding missions of Planned Parenthood and its founder, Margaret Sanger, the more you see it’s not about Women’s Rights. It’s much darker than that.

For those on the Pro-choice side wondering how all of this got spooled up out of control. Look to your leadership. When they started pushing full-term, and abortion as contraception, and gulp – post-term abortions… people mobilized and pushed back the other way. If they would have let things sit ala-2015, I bet the opposition would have been content to let it sit as well. The other issue with holding onto the Roe V Wade concepts is the information that came post-Roe V Wade about the circumstances and untruths that led to the original decision. We can all hear the screaming about rape, incest, domestic abuse and the idea of forcing a woman to live out that trauma through forced birth. Laws are full of loopholes and exceptions, and the numbers that warrant that chant are actually quite low. To think states wouldn’t bake in those caveats is not thinking it through.

Pro-lifers look at the topic with the same fervent attitude. What about the man’s rights in the decision. The man is financially responsible for how the female makes the decision. All this when there is a documentary recently released “What is a Woman?”. This is nuts. If they redefined “Pro-Choice” in a way that had alignment and made sense, I bet a lot more people would find themselves on the team. What does that look like?

• Reasonably short decision windows
• A sign-off by the male or mediation to indicate knowledge – police report in lieu of male consent
• A financial distance between participating agencies preventing Abortion for Profit
• Mental Health services are offered regardless of the Abortion outcome

If both sides could come to the table reasonably and discuss the details, discount the hyperbole, and examine the decision makers for their economic stakes in the game… I think we would get a lot further.

If you injure a pregnant woman, and the baby dies, you can be charged with murder. That shows that the laws recognize the baby as a person. It seems to reason that we should be talking about Baby’s Rights. If the pregnancy is a result of something horrific… then we are back to Women’s Rights. If it is a non-horrific cause, but the woman still wants to abort… where are Man’s Rights? As a society, we need to be extremely careful of how we devalue life. Abortion, on-demand, at any time, sounds a lot more like killing than reproductive health to a lot of Americans.

The media focusing on the fringe on each opposing side does not do much to breach the gap either. When they show the protests (from both sides) they highlight what seems like incredibly poor behavior. If it’s “your side” you feel embarrassed, but if it’s the other side you build more anger and resentment, closing you off to a compromise.
